Garth began his career in the water sports and bike industries, where he spent 12 years as a semi-professional water skier and coach, competing and coaching around the world. Garth learnt a lot about people, maintaining relationships, hard work, discipline, and culture.
On returning to New Zealand Garth was motivated to start his own business and decided to open a bike tourism and retail business. This involved the initial set-up, building systems, employing staff, building relationships with suppliers & customers and growing a profitable business over 7 years.
Garth decided to sell the business, ironically through NZ Business Brokers and found he was fascinated by the process, looking for a new direction he decided to make a career change and become a business broker.
